Firefighters tackle blaze involving three caravans

Three caravans were discovered to be on fire in a North Yorkshire village this morning (Thursday).

The blaze, on Endican Lane, Thornton Le Moor, north of Thirsk, was spotted from the roadside at 3.15am.

Thirsk firefighters went to the incident.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews located a fire within a field consisting of three caravans.

Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish. The cause is yet to be determined.”
