An aerial ladder platform, breathing apparatus and hose reels were in use.

Group manager Bob Hoskins of North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said on Twitter: “Six people were removed from the building prior to fire service arrival.”

The fire is now out. A pump and the aerial ladder remain at the scene. Fire investigation officers are now in attendance too.
