Crews tackled a fire started deliberately in a lift in York last night (Friday).
It happened in a public building in Piccadilly at 6.53pm.
An eggbox was set on fire in the lift. York and Acomb firefighters responded to the incident.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews removed the eggbox and placed it in a bucket of water to extinguish.
“A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear residual smoke from the lift and lift shaft. Cause believed deliberate.”
