Emergency services were called to a serious collision in York last night (Sunday).
It happened on the A59 at Upper Poppleton at about 6.51pm.
Firefighters from Acomb and Tadcaster went to the incident. They used e-draulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of a Ford Fiesta to extricate a casualty, who was taken to hospital.
A witness said a number of police vehicles and ambulances went to the incident.
The A59 was closed while the emergency services did their work. Traffic was diverting via the Park&Ride.
The road has reopened.
