Firefighters went to a home in York after smoke was seen coming from the kitchen this morning (Wednesday).
It happened at 10.32am at Nicholas Gardens off Lawrence Street.
They used a hose reel jet to put out the fire.

Ventilation cleared the smoke and a thermal imaging camera was used to check for further hotspots.
The cause was “linseed oil rags bundled up in a plastic container that had started to combust”.
