Fire crews called to incident at York bar

Two fire crews were called to an incident at a York bar yesterday evening (Saturday).

Smoke was spotted at Jalou York, found inside St John’s Church on Micklegate.

Firefighters from York and Huntington went to the scene at 5pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from York and Huntington responded to reports of a electrical cupboard in a commercial property which was full of smoke.

“Crew exposed the paneling but were unable to find initial cause of the smoke. Crews isolated electrics and handed the incident over to Northern Power to investigate further.”
