A crew from Selby responded to a report of smoke logging in a residential property shortly after 1pm yesterday (Thursday 21 November).
Crews found this had been caused by a child accidentally turning on the oven that had a plastic tray containing food left in it.
The occupant had begun to ventilate the property prior to fire service arrival.
Crews assisted to clear the remaining smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.
