Fences have been removed at a popular open space in York.
College Green along with its seating and the path linking the Minster with Deangate has been closed for several weeks.
The Minster Gardens Team said it was for restoration and routine maintenance and to allow the grass to recover from the heavy footfall over the summer.
The area was very busy, offering shade from large trees, a good view of York Minster and three cafes and a pub next door.
However for the time being you are asked to keep off the grass and stick to the seats and path.
