A 17-year-old has been arrested after failing to stop for police following a chase on the southbound A1(M).
Suspected of driving a stolen vehicle, the driver failed to stop for police and the pursuit began.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The driver eventually abandoned the vehicle but was quickly detained by one of our police dogs and arrested by officers.
“They have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence, driving without insurance, and failing to stop for police.
“Further checks revealed the vehicle had been stolen during a burglary in the Northumbria area.”
