Drag Race UK star Bimini is heading to North Yorkshire this summer – as special guest to Scissor Sisters in Scarborough.
Musician, DJ, activist and drag performer Bimini will join the multi-award-winning stars Scissor Sisters, when they bring their glam-pop spectacle to Scarborough Open Air Theatre for their headline show on Saturday 8 August.
They are joining the show as an additional special guest along with the previously announced The Hidden Cameras.
After breaking through on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in 2021, Bimini is now focused on music with their visceral DJ sets encompassing house, electro, breaks, drum’n’bass and leftfield club sounds, often blending live vocals to provide peak dance floor moments.
Alongside DJing, Bimini is completing their debut album – a body of work driven by protest, satire and unflinching honesty, centred on their razor-sharp tongue, relatable life experiences and irreverent insights.
Bimini has released music via Sony, with BBC Radio 1, Radio 2 and Radio 6 Music support. They’ve also produced high-profile remixes for artists including Anastacia and Kate Nash.
Performance highlights include All Points East, Creamfields Chile, warming up for Lady Gaga at London’s O2 Arena and Pride and festival appearances across the UK, Europe and Australia.
Since bursting onto the global music scene in 2004, Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears, Babydaddy, Del Marquis, and the band remain as bold, brilliant and boundary breaking as ever.
With their chart-topping, self-titled debut album they were the first act ever to sweep all three international categories at the BRIT Awards. Packed with unforgettable singles like Take Your Mama, Comfortably Numb, and Laura, it firmly established the band as one of the most daring and influential pop acts of the era.
