Firefighters had to tackle a large fire near Malton last night (Friday).
They were called out at 6.02pm to Settrington, where they found 500 square metres of vegetation on fire.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The fire is believed to have been caused by a discarded cigarette.
“Crews used knapsack sprayers to extinguish the fire.”
