Crews were called to five fires started deliberately in York last night (Sunday).
At 6.22pm they went to Westfield Lane, Wiggington to a report of a small fire in the open.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “This was a small camp fire measuring approx three metres.
“Crews used knapsack sprayers to extinguish and dampen down. It’s believed this was set deliberately.”
Then at 7.19pm firefighters went to Clifton Backies, off Minchin Close.
The spokesperson said: “The Acomb crew responded to a fire in the open. Upon arrival three fires had been set all measuring five metres by five metres.
