Emergency services were called to an overturned trailer containing live cattle on the A1(M) today (Tuesday).
It happened on the southbound carriageway between Catterick and Leeming at about 10.05am.
Richmond and Ripon fire crews, along with their incident support vehicle, went to the incident.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “This was vehicle pulling a trailer with cattle inside. The trailer had overturned.
“Crews assisted police on scene and relocated the trailer.
“Crews then assisted the farmer and vet with moving cattle from damaged trailer into another. Incident left with police and highways.”
No other vehicle was involved. The road was shut for some time after the collision.
