Following the collision that took place last Friday evening (28 November) in Leyburn, Police say that the pedestrian who was taken to hospital with serious injuries, has died.
The man has been named as Benjamin Robinson, 31, from Leyburn.
Officers were called at 10.10pm on Friday 28 November to a collision between a red Range Rover car and a pedestrian on Railway Street, by the A684 Harmby Road junction with Yoredale Way.
A woman in her 70s was arrested in connection with the collision, and has since been released under investigation.
The Major Collision Investigation Team are still appealing for any witnesses or people with dashcam footage of the incident to get in touch.
