Every year family and friends of Millie Wright come together in a charity fun run in Poppleton held in her memory.
Millie Wright passed away at the age of just 13. She had a rare immune system disorder.
Her parents established a charity to help families and hospital staff. It funds a family support worker, provides family expense grants, and organises ‘Millie’s Saturday Suppers’ to provide food for parents staying at the Leeds Children’s Hospital.
The charity hosts an annual Fun Run in the village of Upper Poppleton, in York, in memory of Millie Wright, who would have turned 18th this year.

Over the past 4 years, Millie’s charity, The Millie Wright Children’s Charit, has supported thousands of families at Leeds Children’s Hospital.
They say this is Millie’s legacy, kindness, compassion and support when families need it most.
