It was International Women’s Day this past Sunday (8 March) – and here’s how YorkMix were marking the occasion.
YorkMix were celebrating the special day today (Monday) by bringing together some inspirational women in York and North Yorkshire for a fun and free networking event.
It took place at The Hospitium in Museum Gardens from 1:30pm to 3:30pm, and featured free refreshments, a live quiz, goodies to takeaway – and of course, a room full of incredible women in business.
The event had a fantastic turn-out, with women from local businesses such as St Leonard’s Hospice, The Grand, York Mumbler, Ego York, and of course our event partners York Venues.
The afternoon started with time for networking and enjoying free tasty refreshments, before YorkMix‘s breakfast presenter Laura introduced the itinerary of fun.
We went upstairs to a beautifully decorated room where attendees could take a seat and enjoy some flavoured iced tea from Taylors of Harrogate and listen to a poignant poem from Dawn Clements at York Museums Trust, before we settled into the quiz.
The quiz was led by our ‘Queen of the Quizzical’ YorkMix‘s Victoria, with a special music round on the kazoo from Laura. There was a special women-themed round, and our winning team table won a voucher for two at Ate O’Clock. We then got to hear from some incredible women in attendance share some information about their business.
It was an amazing turnout and such a fantastic atmosphere of women supporting women.
Thank you to everyone who attended our event, it was empowering to be in a room full of amazing women in business.
