Youths started a fire at a York nature reserve today (Sunday).
Firefighters went to Sutton Way, next to Clifton Backies Nature Reserve, at 09.17am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Acomb responded to reports of youths setting a fire in a field.

“This was a small fire measuring approximately 1m by 1m, consisting of pallet wood and logs.
“Crews extinguished using two backpack sprayers and small tools.
“The cause was believed to be deliberate. Police were informed of this incident.”
