Updated: York to Scarborough rail line reopens after level crossing fault

** The line has now reopened **

There are problems for some rail travellers this afternoon (Wednesday).

A fault at a level crossing has blocked the York and Scarborough line.

Trains are being cancelled or delayed by the problem.

Rail operator TransPennine Express says: “Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes.

“You should continue to travel as planned, however, your journey may be delayed, We are sorry for the delay to your journey today.”

They are hoping the problem will be fixed by 4.30pm.

The line was beset by a similar issue earlier today.
