York therapy practice celebrates milestone birthday

Glossa Speech Therapy in York is celebrating its 18th birthday – marking nearly two decades of specialist support for older teenagers and adults with communication and swallowing difficulties.

The speech therapy practice in Clifton, will celebrate its milestone birthday on Thursday 18 June.

Since 2008, Glossa has worked alongside individuals, families, case managers, solicitors, rehabilitation professionals and healthcare teams to provide expert, person-centred speech and language therapy.

From supporting recovery following brain injury and stroke to helping people manage progressive neurological conditions and complex communication needs, Glossa has built a reputation for clinical excellence, collaboration and advocacy.

“Over the past 18 years, we’ve had the privilege of supporting hundreds of individuals to achieve greater independence, confidence and quality of life,” said Lucy Lowson, owner, founder and clinical lead speech & language therapist.

“Communication is fundamental to who we are and we’re proud to work alongside our clients and professional partners to help people participate fully in life, work and relationships.”

As Glossa reaches this important milestone, the practice remains committed to delivering innovative, evidence-based therapy and strengthening the partnerships that enable people with communication challenges to access the support they need.

Eighteen years on, the mission remains unchanged: helping people find their voice, be heard, and live life on their own terms.
