Two building developments will mean the partial closure of a York road for eight months.
The south-east bound lane of Piccadilly will shut between its junctions with St Deny’s Road and Merchantgate from Monday (2 March) to Saturday, 31 October.
There are two hotels being built on the road at the moment, and the York traffic order says the closure is to ensure that the works “can be carried out safely”.
Also all left hand turns from Dennis Street into Piccadilly will be suspended for the works period.
On-street parking on the north-eastern side of Piccadilly between its junctions with Dennis Street and Merchantgate will be suspended too.

A signed diversion will take traffic via Merchantgate, Walmgate and St Deny’s Road.
Work is well underway at the two new hotels on Piccadilly.
The Banana Warehouse Hotel, incorporating the facade of the famous Banana Warehouse, will have 168-beds.

This five-storey Marriott hotel, opposite Spark, will also include a restaurant.
Further south on the street, construction work is underway on the room2 hotel, café and bar being built where the demolished Swinson House office block used to stand.
This will be a seven-storey 116-room hotel based around a design concept of ‘modernising medieval’, “inspired by the city’s history and architectural heritage”.
