Whitby swing bridge has jammed.
Police say it is likely to be stuck for a while.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The swing bridge in Whitby town centre is jammed which is causing congestion to road and foot passage in the town centre, and this is likely to be the case for the remainder of the day.
“Please find another alternative route if you can.”
