Heartbroken friends of Victoria Taylor gathered to remember her today.
Victoria, who was 34, went missing from her Malton home on 30 September, sparking a huge search.
A body was found in the River Derwent close to where some of her belongings were found yesterday morning.
Today, friends of the young mother were gathering by the riverside, to light candles and lay flowers in her memory.
Her friend, Charlotte Cundill, posted on Facebook that people were meeting at the Derwent Arms at 11.30am today before “walking down to around where Vixx was found and meeting at 12 at the river down past the park.
“Please feel free to bring flowers to lay and candles to light.”
She also paid tribute to everyone who had helped in the search to find Victoria.
“I can’t thank everyone enough for every little bit of effort put in over the past three weeks and the continued support.
“You’re all amazing! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Charlotte has also set up a GoFund Me Page for Victoria’s family. “I’d love to be able to raise some money together to support Vixx’s partner and family in paying for her funeral and having some money set aside for her partner and little girl.
“Every little donation made helps towards this and will be appreciated more than you know.”
At the time of publication it had raised £2,850. You can donate here.
