‘Vibrant’ new market launches in York this weekend with 30 traders

A brand new market launches in York this weekend.

The Bishy Road Bazaar is set to take place at the car park on Bishopthorpe Road from 11am to 3pm on Sunday (19 April).

Organisers say it will showcase “a vibrant mix of over 30 local makers, creatives, traders and community spirit”

“This is an exciting opportunity to showcase the amazing artists and creatives living in York whilst bringing people together and celebrating all Bishy Road has to offer,” they say.

“This lively community bazaar will showcase a diverse selection of stalls, featuring handmade crafts, unique gifts, vintage finds, and locally produced goods.

“Visitors can expect a welcoming atmosphere that celebrates the creativity and imagination of York’s makers and creatives.”

This event is the first of four Bishy Road Bazaars planned for 2026:

  • 19 April
  • 24 May
  • 19 July
  • and 23rd August.

There is no bazaar on Sunday 21 June, but that’s when the established Bishy Road street party will return. A music festival is being planned for the autumn.

The Bishy Road Bazaars are funded by the Mayor of York and North Yorkshire through the Vibrant and Sustainable High Street Fund.
