Firefighters were called to two fires started deliberately in York last night (Tuesday).
The York crew were called to an incident on Heworth Green at 6.41pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On arrival the fire was found to be 3m by 4m and well alight.
“Crews used knapsack sprayers and a bucket to extinguish the fire.”
Then, at 11.30pm, an Acomb crew was called to Pulleyn Drive, next to Knavesmire and Little Hob Moor, to a small fire in the open.

The spokesperson said: “The fire had been extinguished before the arrival of fire crews by the police on scene.”
