Two drivers taken to hospital after crash in Ryedale

Police are asking for information and dashcam footage following a collision near Kirbymoorside.

It happened at the junction of the A170 with Pickering Road at approximately 8.40am on Tuesday 9 June, and involved a red Jaguar and a blue Skoda Yeti.

A witness appeal has just been issued.

The Skoda was travelling south on Pickering Road, and the Jaguar was heading east on A170. The road was closed for a number of hours while officers investigated the scene and to allow the vehicles involved to be recovered.

Both drivers were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. They have since been released and are recovering at home.

Police are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident.
