A man and a woman have been arrested following an altercation at a York war memorial.
It happened at the South African War Memorial on Duncombe Place near York Minster at about 4.30pm on Sunday 19 October.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The victim challenged a man and woman when an item was thrown at the war memorial.

“A physical altercation followed in which the victim was assaulted and pushed to the floor.
“We’re appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any video footage or private CCTV of the incident to get in touch if they have not already spoken to us.”
A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on bail while the investigation continues.
