Two airlifted to hospital after crash in North Yorkshire

Two people were airlifted to hospital after a crash near Knaresborough this morning (Monday).

Fire crews were called to the incident at the junction of the A658 and B6163 at 7.52am.

Two vehicles had collided. The driver of one of them was trapped.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews released the occupant using driver side door removal and they were then transported to hospital via air ambulance.

“Crews then carried out scene safety and disconnected the batteries from both vehicles.”

The road was closed for a time while emergency services were on the scene.
