Police have thanked members of the public who helped out after a serious crash near York.
Four vehicles were involved in the collision on the A1079 just before 1.25pm yesterday (Sunday).
It happened near Grimston Bar roundabout, just east of the lay-by before Kexby.
Three women were seriously injured in the crash. They were all in a white Citroen C3.
The other vehicles involved were a grey Vauxhall Astra, a red Vauxhall Astra and a white Renault Clio.
All three casualties were taken to hospital for treatment.
The road was closed for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for anyone with information who has not yet come forward, and we would also like to thank several members of the public who stopped to help.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage of it or the moments leading up to it is urged to get in touch if they have yet to speak to us.”
