Thieves siphoned diesel from three lorries in a high-value theft.
It happened when the lorries were parked in the lay-by next to York Racecourse on the eastbound carriageway of the A64.
The thieves struck some time between 9pm on Sunday (25 February) and 5.45am yesterday.
The location of the crime
Police are appealing for any witnesses and particularly any dashcam footage in the area between those times.
