Police seized these items after responding to reports of youths attempting to break into cars in York city centre.
It happened yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers from the York city centre neighbourhood policing team responded to a report of two youths trying car doors.
“Two were stopped and searched, found to be in possession of a number of tools, gloves and face coverings and were arrested.”
It comes as the York City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team revealed these other recent results:
- Last Thursday (9 May) they charged “a well known individual” with shop theft and cycle theft. He received five weeks’ imprisonment and was ordered to pay £650 to the victim of the cycle theft
- On Monday police arrested a man “being aggressive towards shop staff in possession of a large wooden staff”. He has been charged to court with a public order offence
- Yesterday they arrested two people just outside the city centre for going equipped to steal. Enquiries are ongoing
- On the same day a woman was arrested for two counts of shop theft (total value £140) and remanded in custody for a court appearance
- Overnight the response team arrested three people for going equipped just outside the city centre, who remain in custody.
