Roads in a York suburb are closed because of flooding tonight (Sunday).
Salisbury Road, off Water End, is shut. Police are at the scene.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said at 8.50pm: “There is a significant flood affecting Salisbury Road, Salisbury Terrace and surrounding roads.

“We are at the scene now, assisting residents, alongside Yorkshire Water and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service.
“Roads are impassable and closed. Please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journeys.”
Yorkshire Water said the problem was affecting postcodes YO26, YO23, YO24: “You may have no water or low water pressure at the moment.
“We’ll get your water back to normal as soon as possible. It may be cloudy or discoloured for a while when it comes back, but you can clear this by running your tap for a few minutes.”
A picture by reader Jack Vanston shows a huge hole on the corner of Salisbury Terrace and Balfour Street where it appears the water main burst.
Resident Jade McLeod told YorkMix: “We popped outside and the road was literally bubbling with water. I’ve never seen anything quite like it, to be honest.
“Huge amounts of water going under doorsteps. Madness.
“It looks like it’s gone down the back streets, flooding the children’s park at the back, and come out down the bottom end of the street as well.
“So the whole street’s cordoned off. How we’re going to get in and out with the cars in the morning, who knows?”
Another resident, with the fitting name of Noah, told us he heard: “all the kids out behind the house screaming and shouting like there’s been a murder.
“We look outside to find the water flowing down Malford Street and into Balfour Street and into the back alleys and park.”
He said his house hadn’t been inundated. Meanwhile he’d heard that local children had taken to wheelie bins to float up and down the flooded alleys.
