Emergency services were called to help a sheep stranded on a river bank – but in the end she helped herself.
Fire crews from Ripon and Skipton with swift water capabilities were called to the incident at Bolton Abbey at 11.40 today.
A sheep had fallen down the side of the river bank.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “However, when crews approached, the sheep jumped into the river, swam across and climbed out unaided.
“The sheep was uninjured. No further action were taken by fire crews.”
