Shambles reopened today.
York’s most famous street was closed completely for a while yesterday after Storm Jocelyn’s high winds blew tiles off the roof and onto the cobbles below.
Shambles was later reopened at both ends, but with the middle section still cordoned off.
City of York Council told YorkMix last night that they were sending a team to assess the situation on the street today.
They have confirmed that Shambles is safe again, now the high winds have died down, and the cordon was lifted.
