A serious crash closed the A59 west of York this afternoon (Saturday).
It’s at Green Hammerton.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Emergency services are currently attending a serious collision which has led to the A59 being closed at Green Hammerton.

“The road is likely to remain closed for some time to allow us to deal with the incident.
“We’re urging drivers to use other routes where possible.
“Thank you for your understanding.”
The road has now reopened.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Acomb and Harrogate crews were mobilised to an incident involving a casualty trapped in their vehicle after a road traffic collision.
“Crews were able to gain access to the casualty by using packex and a window punch. The casualty was moved to a road ambulance and the incident was left with paramedics.”
