A group of York residents got trapped in their own building today (Monday).
They were stuck due to a faulty locking mechanism.
Firefighters were called to help out on Olympian Court at 12.51pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Acomb responded to reports of multiple people locked inside a residential building when the lock had failed.
“Crews used a reciprocating saw to gain access to the property.”
