There’s been a heavy police presence in a York street tonight (Wednesday).
Officers have been at the scene of an incident on St Mary’s, off Bootham.
Three marked police vehicles were parked at the bottom of the cul-de-sac.

Earlier, a section of the adjoining Marygate car park and the nearby footpath were also sealed off by police tape.
An officer stood guard at the bottom of St Mary’s.
At around 10.20pm, that tape was removed and some of the marked police vehicles left the scene. One is still in place on St Mary’s and police were also on the corner of Marygate Lane and Frederic Street.
We have no more details as yet. It is the second incident tonight in which police sealed off a York street.
High Ousegate was cordoned off earlier. It has since reopened.
