Police have issued an update on the sudden death in York today (Tuesday).
As we reported earlier, a cordon was put in place following the woman’s death on Station Road.
Officers taped off the stone bus shelter across the road from York Station this morning.

That cordon was lifted at 5.20pm.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “It was put in place following the sudden death of a local woman aged in her 40s which was reported to us by the ambulance service at 10.41am.
“Enquiries are ongoing to determine the cause of death and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

“The woman’s family have been informed and offered support.”
