Don’t be alarmed if you see lots of the emergency services at the LNER Community Stadium tomorrow (Wednesday, 15 July).
They are taking part in a training exercise there, between 9am and 2pm.
Police, fire and ambulance crews are all taking part.
They will be practising their response to an incident where members of the public require decontamination.
Please do not be alarmed – that’s the message to people living in or visiting the area of the stadium or Vangarde Shopping Park.
Lee Adkin, York and Selby group manager for North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, said: “You may need see a number of fire engines at the LNER Community Stadium on Wednesday 15 July whilst we take part in this planned trained exercise.
“I would like to thank the stadium for allowing us access to their site and facilities.
“Working in partnership with other organisations allows us to test the effectiveness of our response if a real incident of this kind was to occur and continually improve our service to the community.”
