Emergency services were called to an incident on the river in York early this morning (Wednesday).
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We received a report of an incident involving a man in distress at Lendal Bridge at 4:39am this morning.
“He was taken by ambulance to hospital for the support he needs.”
York Rescue Boat said: “Team called out by North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service at 04.46 this morning to an incident by Lendal Bridge in York.
“Incident brought to a safe conclusion by police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust crews.”
