Police say they are aware of an unauthorised traveller encampment that has returned to Tadcaster.
It is on the site of the sewage treatment works, on Ouston Lane.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “As with previous encampments, the police will be taking a multi-agency approach to managing the unauthorised traveller encampment.
“The site was recently visited by officers from North Yorkshire Police who have made an initial assessment on the situation and reported their findings back to our colleagues at North Yorkshire Council.
“The police will continue to monitor the site and show a highly visible presence in the area, engaging with both the traveller encampment and the local community.”
