The Prime Minister said stay at home to save lives – and people in York have heeded the call.
On the first official day of Lockdown 3, the city was extremely quiet.
There were few cars even at busy city centre junctions.
Only a few souls could be seen on normally busy streets, including Stonegate and Parliament Street.
York Station was eerily quiet – as we reported yesterday, two train operators have suspended services for the time being.
Here’s how it looked on a cold, lockdown January day.
