The devastated family of a woman who tragically died following a fatal collision last week have shared these words about her.
She was 38-year-old Elizabeth Cross (pictured) from Easingwold. And our thoughts are with her loved ones at this incredibly sad time.
Our investigation remains ongoing as we work to establish the circumstances leading up to the collision.
It happened about 1.15pm on Tuesday 11 June on A19 near Birdforth, north of Easingwold involving a blue Skoda Enyaq and a red Vauxhall Corsa.
Emergency services attended but Elizabeth was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Skoda, a woman in her 40s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. She has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
The road was closed while the scene was examined and cleared. It reopened at about 7pm.
