Fancy a new challenge?

Brewers Thwaites are looking for new tenants to run a landmark pub in York city centre.

Tenants are wanted for the White Horse on Bootham, and its owners describe this as a “rare opportunity”.

Details say: “Located right next to the York Art Gallery, Yorkshire Museum and Gardens and York Minster, most custom comes from passing trade and tourists.

“There is regular live entertainment, karaoke, open mic nights and a quiz which attracts people to the pub. A small food offer has been introduced and is well received

“The pub has a welcoming traditional pub feel. A central bar serves a lounge area and additional seating and entertaining space.”

The White Horse comes with six 6 en-suite letting bedrooms, a catering kitchen and an office. There’s a small outside area to the front right of the building.

The customers are described as “aged between 18-84, have an average to very high level of affluence and are seeking a venue that offers great quality food and drink”.

The guide rent is £37,500 per year excluding VAT, based on a full tie.

Last year a total of 115 barrels of beer and cider were sold at the pub.
