Fire crews were called to a fire started deliberately in Acomb last night (Thursday).
They responded to the incident on Beckfield Lane, York, at 8.59pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Acomb crews attended a report of a fire in a field.
“Crews located a fire consisting of a mattress and fence post believed to have been lit deliberately. Crews extinguished the fire using a knapsack sprayer and buckets of water.”
