A ‘distressing’ video of a man kicking a dog is circulating and police have made an arrest.
“We’re investigating an incident in which a man kicked a dog on Northway, Scarborough,” a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.
“We are aware of distressing video circulating on social media showing the incident.

The incident occurred at about 4.15pm on Thursday (2 April).
They issued this update on Sunday: “We asked for the public’s help to identify a man who had been reported for kicking a dog on Northway, Scarborough.
“Today, a suspect was identified and arrested as part of the investigation.
“Tonight, we have charged a 29-year-old Scarborough man for causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.
“He was also charged with two shop thefts.”
