A man has been arrested following suspicious behaviour in a York park last night (Tuesday).
Police received several calls after 7pm saying a man was following a group of young people and behaving unusually in Hull Road Park, Tang Hall.
Officers detained the man at 7.26pm.

He was then arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon, possession of Class A drugs, obstructing a police officer, and assaulting an emergency worker.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The man was initially taken to hospital for assessment and was later transferred to police custody, where he remains while enquiries continue.
“At this time, it is not believed that any young people were threatened during the incident, and no one was harmed.
“The local Neighbourhood Policing Team is continuing to carry out enquiries and reassurance patrols in the area while the investigation is ongoing.”
Police are asking any witnesses and people with information, including CCTV, doorbell and dashcam footage, to come forward.
