A man from Malton has appeared in court charged with a raft of hate crimes.
Ryan Damien Flintham, 19, of Castlegate, Malton, is also charged with assaulting police officers.
He was at York Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday).
Flintham is charged with:
- Two counts of racially aggravated intentional harassment against men on 2 and 3 November 2025 in Norton
- Racially aggravated common assault against a man on 2 November in Norton
- Racially aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm against a man on 3 November in Norton
- Affray on 3 November in Norton
- Theft of a bicycle from a man in Norton on 2 November
- Common assault on an emergency worker (police officer) in Scarborough on 3 November
- Assault by beating of an emergency worker (police officer) in Scarborough on 3 November
- Used threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress in Scarborough on 3 November
- Arson on a council-owned tree in Norton on 3 November.
Flintham has been released on conditional court bail and is due to appear at York Crown Court on 8 December for plea and trial preparation.
