Updated: Trains back to normal after power outage near York

**UPDATE: LNER said at 7.50am on Saturday that “disruption caused by damage to the overhead electric wires between Doncaster and York has now ended” **

There’s major disruption to trains in and out of York due to a power outage this afternoon (Friday).

A failure of the electricity supply between York and Doncaster means all lines are blocked.

National Rail says: “As a result, trains running between these stations may be severely delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

“Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.”

It’s affecting all operators on the East Coast Main Line, including LNER between London Kings Cross, York and Edinburgh, and Grand Central between London Kings Cross and Sunderland.
