A long stretch of York’s outer ring road will shut tonight (Thursday, 7 May).
There will be a full eastbound road closure from 7pm as Yorkshire Water fixes a burst main.
The closure starts on the A64 at just before Askham Field Lane roundabout and will travel along the A1237 until just before the Malton Road roundabout.

Signed diversions will be in place.
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: “Our contract partners M Group are working as quickly as we can to repair the burst.
“For the safety of our colleagues and those living and working in the area, we need to close the road on the evening of Thursday 7 May whilst we complete the repair and following reinstatement.
“We appreciate that this is a major route and will be disruptive and would like to apologise for the inconvenience this will cause and thank everyone for their patience.”
The road will be re-opened as soon as it is safe to do so.
