Police say they will be out in force ahead of tonight’s football match.
York City welcome Hartlepool to the LNER Community Stadium with a kick-off at 7.45pm.
A large number of away fans are expected.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We know the vast majority of supporters will want to enjoy the match in the right spirit – that’s why we won’t let anyone’s antisocial or criminal behaviour spoil the night.
“There will be a policing operation in place across the city, with officers in uniform (and plain clothes) on duty to provide safety and reassurance to everyone.
“Also remember traffic around the stadium may be heavier than usual, so please leave extra time if you’re driving in the area.”
